It is a fact, the export data for Cured Hams and Shoulder cannot be better, reaching more than 130%, compared to the figures of the last 10 years. And it is that, in addition to having increased its consumption within the European market, an increase has been noted in the US, Mexico, China and Japan.
Here in Spain, the consumption of more than half of the legs of Iberian Hams is carried out in a domestic environment, but producers and marketers insist on the versatility of the product, which with new presentations, vacuum-sliced, diced, or boneless fits all types of consumers.
This is the idea that has been tried to be transmitted in Europe, through the “Ham Pasion Tour” campaign carried out by the European Union and the Interprofessional Association of Iberian Pork, where all Iberian products are enthusiastically promoted. And it has worked: two out of three attendees affirm that they recognize Iberian Hams from Spain, and all of them agree that it is a product with a very long life ahead of them.
The traceability of the products, the transparency and above all the quality of the Iberian products, make the Iberian sector go through its best moment. All an acknowledgment of things well done. Bravo for the Iberian Ham!
