If you already did finish your last slices of ham and what is missing is the bone that will go directly into the trash, we propose you an alternative which will have as result a delicious broth in a few easy steps.

1  Ham Bone

2L Water approx.

2 carrots

1 onion

1 leek (white part)

1 sprig of parsley

1 dash of olive oil

The first step it to cut the bone of the ham. If you have a jigsaw and you know how to do it, you can do it yourself, otherwise you can take it to your butcher

Before placing them in the broth, introduces the bones in a pot of cold water,  and boil it to expel impurities (You can repeat the process once again).

Once done, put in a large pot the bone into cold water again, the peeled and cut carrots into two, peeled onion, the leek clean and cut in half, parsley and a drizzle of olive oil, and as it reaches the boiling point, we lower the heat and cook 2-3 hours.

Remove the foam and the fat from  the surface. Remove the vegetables, with these you can puree adding some potatoes.

Finally, strain the broth and keep it in the refrigerator or freezer, you can add noodles or some beef choped to enjoy a rich soup.

A very simple recipe to squeeze every last drop of your ham.
